I’m going to copy over his mom’s public post on his Facebook page Praying for Micah Ahern, that was featured on the news this week:

It’s just that there was a small piece of me that still thought Micah would beat this. I thought this new antibody treatment that had worked so well so quickly might be the new cure. Sometimes I felt naive thinking that but I had hope that Micah would be “the one” that beat it. But he won’t be. 
Micah’s cancer has progressed. He will no longer be doing the antibody and chemo therapy. Micah will be going on hospice soon. He will be enjoying his remaining days with his family.

Cancer doesn’t win. 

Micah wins. 

I’ve never seen any person endure such suffering with such a positive attitude. Micah celebrates life everyday no matter his circumstances. He always has. We could all learn a lesson from the bravest little boy that ever lived.
At this time we will not be accepting any visitors. Micah still has some energy and we will be enjoying some time away while he is able. We appreciate your texts and emails but please realize we will not be responding to them individually, allowing us to maximize our time with Micah.

I have wept several times reading this. No parent should ever have to witness the death of one of their children, no matter the age. My mom, who is still alive and well, would suffer at my loss just as Linda and her family will grieve for Micah. 

TCU, the Texas Christian University baseball team, has forged a friendship with Micah.
