Florence is the Finest

It doesn’t get much better than this people. Let me share something with you that has brought tears to my eyes. Tears of joy.

My oldest daughter and I went to see one of her favorite bands, Florence and the Machine last week in Dallas. I have to say Florence has an amazing voice and a wonderful charismatic personality. The concert was great and I am now a fan of some of her music.

As most of you know, I am a two-time cancer survivor. Cancer stories hit me hard. This is simply sublime.

Florence went to Austin the night after she was in Dallas. A 15-year-old hospice patient was wanting to see her concert really really bad. She became too weak. The staff made a quick attempt to reach out to this world-wide star.

On a spontaneous last second invitation, Florence and the Machine went to this hospice patient’s room and gave her a private 45 minute concert because she got too weak to make it to the concert.

I am so very touched by this act of kindness on Florence’s part. The world needs more kind gestures like this.

You’re right, thats a great story,I actually know one of songs chorus “the dog days are over” don’t know title but liked it for a long time. A few celebrities have done stuff but not enough. My Mum tells a story that only came out after Princess Diana died, visited the Bolton Hospice(still fairly new then, she may have done official opening as it;s called Royal Bolton Hospice I think. She’d done a planned tour & visited patients,as she was leaving she was told that someone had died, she went back to comfort the family & spent quite a while with them, not known to the press. I liked your previous post too, told you you need to do journalism for a living, very articulate.Just got back from 3 weeks in England, cold a few days but mostly mild,Mum was great until a week ago when she fell(no fractures)& seemed a bit different & GP doing a memory test today.Worrying as I only knew there was a problem for a few days & flew back on Tuesday. Heard Kelley doing better. We’re meeting for lunch next Thursday 1130 at Mimis(you came there once w Janice 7 CMC friends) I20 & Bryant Irvin All for now,hi to Janice Frances
